Position Overview

We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and proactive Lead Accountant who holds an active CPA license and is excited about supporting a rapidly expanding wealth management firm on the client level. This role begins at 5–10 hours per week, with the long-term opportunity to transition into a full-time position as the company grows. You will work closely with leadership to provide tax strategy support, and operational accounting guidance to individuals and small business owners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee completion of accurate and timely bookkeeping for business clients.

  • Identify and implement tax planning opportunities.

  • Support clients with quarterly estimated tax calculations and projections.

  • Conduct research and analysis of complex tax strategies, especially for

    • Small business owners

    • Real estate investors and property owners

  • Evaluate entity structures, deductions, depreciation strategies, and tax optimization opportunities

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements

  • Support tax preparation processes and coordinate with external professionals as needed

    • *May prepare and review Federal and State returns for W-2 and Business Clients in the future

  • High level of written and oral communication skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Active CPA license (required)

  • 3+ years of accounting experience (public accounting or corporate)

  • Deep understanding of accounting principles.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, tax law, and financial reporting standards

  • Demonstrated ability to research, interpret, and apply advanced tax strategies

  • Proficiency with accounting software and cloud-based financial tools

  • High attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to work independently

  • Interest in long-term growth with a scaling firm

Compensation & Benefits

  • Initial salary: $20,000–$40,000 depending on experience and hours

  • Long Term Full Time Salary: $150,000+

  • 5–10 hours per week to start, with expanding hours as responsibilities grow
